六大

六大
The six great or fundamental things, or elements -- earth; water; fire; wind (or air); space (or ether); and [lang id =1028]識 mind, or perception. These are universal and creative of all things, but the inanimate [lang id =1028]非情 are made only of the first five, while the animate [lang id =1028]有情 are of all six. The esoteric cult represents the six elements, somewhat differently interpreted in the (sa) garbhadhātu and (sa) vajradhātu. Also [lang id =1028]六大界.

又名六界, 即地、 水、 火、 風、 空、 識。 此六法周遍於一切法界, 以造作有情與非情, 故名為大。 非情是五大所造, 有情是六大所成。
